Frankly there are very few reasons why you shouldn’t choose a fifth wheel. Not to be biased at all but if you want a reliable tourer, with a fantastic design and lots of space then we have a great range that includes the family-friendly DreamSeeker, and the impressive Celtic Rambler.
Designed in-house using state of the art 3D computer technology, our hard-working team have the job of assembling each vehicle step by step from chassis to services to luxury interiors.
But as a lot of love goes into each tourer, we don’t just stop there. Each of our fifth wheels has exclusive features such as underfloor heating, power air brakes and independent self-levelling air suspension. We wanted the Fifth Wheel Company to stand out from the crowd and unlike imported American fifth wheels with their harsh exteriors, we aimed to provide external and internal designs that are far superior and have a modern and contemporary design throughout.
So what is the catch you say? Cramped conditions? A lengthy pitch time? Not even in the slightest. They can be pitched in minutes and once at your destination you can activate the electronic slide-out system, which allows for greater space and luxury inside, but with dimensions no longer or wider than a regular large touring caravan.
Now what makes our fifth wheels really unique is their safe and stable towing. Unlike conventional caravans, which in bad wind can be a nightmare to drive, they hook up directly onto the bed of a specially converted 4x4 pick up-style vehicle. This places the load above the vehicles back axle, allowing for even weight distribution and thereby eliminating snaking.
We know that not everyone will need a new vehicle so we can also convert your existing pick-up and make all the necessary adaptations as part of the package. At the Fifth Wheel Company we like to be thorough, and this can include a re-plating of the towing vehicle to increase the rear axle limit if necessary, and pneumatic suspension aids add refinement to the ride when under load that can be easily adjusted to suit laden and unladen situations.
And panic not, as part of the pick-up conversion; a brake control device is installed. This is transferred as an air feed from a compressor or electrical signal so that when you brake, it automatically works the trailer's brakes. It’s as simple as that!
Yet if you are still not convinced of the superiority of our tourers, let me introduce our other specialist features that include a 3-4m2 locker capacity, a 233 litre water tank, a unique aerodynamic GRP nose cone and if you purchase the Celtic Rambler, a king size bed!
You see as a family business, we are one close knit team, so we like to make sure you are completely comfortable with driving your fifth wheel before you take it away. Before you head off into the sunset we plan a day’s training to make sure you are happy and comfortable with driving, hitching and pitching. We'll take you through small towns and villages, including some tight North Wales roads, before you spend your first night on our site.
Once you’re happy with your fifth wheel, all you need is a B&E Driving License and no health or age restrictions and you’re ready to go.
So if you love what you hear, contact us to arrange a viewing and test drive. Typically it will take two to four months for your fifth wheel to be ready after ordering and if you have an existing caravan or motorhome, then we’ll be happy to discuss part exchanging your current tourer. It really is that easy!
